Air Comm Engineering Leads the Industry
Air Comm’s engineering department is staffed by mechanical, electrical and aerospace specialists with more than 80 years of cumulative experience in aviation systems.
Designs are produced on CAD software using 3-D solid models. This capability enables Air Comm to design its systems unobtrusively in a virtual environment based on aircraft space envelopes, without grounding the helicopter for long periods during developmental programs.
ACC Heaters are State-of-the-Art
The introduction of Air Comm’s “mini-ejector” bleed air heater in 1987 revolutionized helicopter cabin heating systems. For the first time, operators could rely on a single light-weight, low-cost, maintenance-free system to provide ample heat regardless of the operating environment. ACC heaters have been field proven to -40°F and today are found on more than a dozen different types of turbine helicopters operating from Yukon, Canada to Antarctica.

Mini-Ejector Heater
This advanced-technology system is engineered to provide optimal output at less than cabin ambient noise levels. It consists of a series of miniature heater ejector assemblies strategically located to provide comprehensive heat and defog coverage throughout the aircraft. Simple and elegant, the system delivers warm air where needed without the use of blowers and air distribution ducting.
ACC Air Conditioners Set the Industry Standard
Like ACC heater technology, a similar design philosophy focusing on high performance, light-weight and low cost is applied to Air Comm helicopter air conditioners. All ACC air conditioners are vapor-cycle, mechanically driven systems that provide excellent aircraft cooling by locating multiple evaporators in cockpit and cabin.
Air Comm air conditioners are renowned for efficient, effective, trouble-free performance in all climates. ACC systems are in service worldwide, including the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Central and South America.
Ozone-Friendly Refrigerant
As required by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, ACC service technicians are certified by the State of Colorado to work with HFC R134a refrigerant. “Ozone friendly” R134a is the only refrigerant used in ACC air conditioning systems.
